Windows 7 Is Amazing

Initial sales of Microsoft Windows 7 has been reported "beyond" Vista sales by 234 percent. According to the NPD Group, a combination of pre-sales discount and lack of promotional activities to generate sales of Ultimate version is 82 bucks per cent higher than Vista.

"Low cost initial program pre Microsoft sales, marketing high visibility and aggressive transactions software help make the launch of Windows 7 successfully", explained spokesperson Stephen Baker NPD. "In a slow environment for Windows 7 software package with a large number of consumers to the software path."

But Baker noted that sales of PC hardware to face more than a "hill" battle - despite healthy growth was posted during the third quarter of the high volume of programs back-to-school took place.

"Total Windows PCs rose 49 percent in units from year to year and rose 95 percent during the week prior to launch", said Baker. "But the growth in PC sales during the launch of Vista is stronger, rising 68 percent above the previous year's sales and 170 percent during the week before the launch. Windows PC sales fell 6 percent compared with the launch of Vista PC sales during the week. "

Baker linking differences between Vista and Windows 7 sales to a "combination" of factors.

"Vista has a little advantage at launch, which as usual in January, has a trace more sales than in October. Another obstacle facing Windows 7 is selling a PC with operating systems older (XP and Vista) is very high, making up 20 percent from sales during the launch of Windows 7, compared with only 6 percent of sales operating system older during the week of the launch of Vista ", added Baker.
